Paddy has been in fundraising for more than 30 years, working mainly in the UK but also in Australia and the United States. For the first 12 years he worked within charities mainly in Director of Fundraising and CEO roles, including three years as Director of Public Affairs at the Royal Melbourne Hospital. In 1997 he returned to UK from Australia and became a fundraising consultant, learning from seasoned veterans such as Timothy Finn, Andrew de Mille and David Saint, before starting his own consultancy in 1997. Since then he has had many clients, large and small, all over the UK. He specialises in capital appeals, fundraising strategies, trusts & foundations, legacy marketing, corporate fundraising, charity events and training & mentoring. He also sometimes takes on interim management roles.
The most fruitful relationship is one that functions as a partnership. Every assignment is undertaken with full recognition of our clients’ corporate culture. All fundraising plans and activities are developed with your organisation not for it. Every effort is made to take full advantage of your staff capability. Each service plan is carefully designed so that the correct amount and type of consultancy is provided. An important goal of the relationship is to leave your organisation stronger and more self-sufficient at the conclusion of service; staff and trustees/board members being better able to develop your organisation with increased donations
As consultants we are bound by the codes and ethics of the Institute of Fundraising and the Association of Fundraising Consultants. This ensures a high standard of consultancy for you - the client. We carry out all work for a contracted and agreed fee - never on the basis of a percentage of the monies raised. We sell our time on a daily and half-daily basis to cover both expertise and hands-on work. Paddy and the other associate consultants do not have any contact whatsoever with the money raised. Donations are private transaction taking place between the donor and the organisation receiving the money.
Progress will be regularly reviewed. All meetings will be reported in writing.
We work with charities located all around the UK.
We also work in India, Thailand and Kenya.
We are members of both the Association of Fundraising Consultants (14 years) and the Chartered Institute of Fundraising (28 years).
Paddy's latest award is from Global Finance Magazine as Fundraising Adviser of the Year UK (2017 & 2018)
